August’s Hobbies and Habits🌿

Hi everyone. I hope you’re doing well. How has August been treating you? For me, I started the first couple weeks being sick with a cold. As much as I hate being sick, it allowed me to catch up on some much needed rest. Once I started getting better, I spent the remainder of my rest to catch up on my hobbies and working to improve Ashanti’s Garden. I have a shop update coming soon, but the date hasn’t been finalized yet. I’m mostly just slowly getting products ready, and the date will be announced once everything is done. In the meantime, I have a sale going on for the remaining Spring Items. Use code SPRINGCLEAR25 at checkout for 25% off any Spring Item. The sale won’t end till all of the Spring Items are sold out, and once they’re gone, they won’t be back until next Spring.

As for the hobbies I mentioned, here are some hobbies and habits I did this month:

1) Reading

  • I started reading again. I use to read a lot in the past, whether it’s novels, graphic novels, manga, and more. My favorite genres are fantasy, action, adventure, slice of life, and really anything I find interesting. I put a small dent into my reading stack so far, going through all the manga and graphic novels I have first. I feel like I have enough time to read novels and some nonfiction soon, and I’m excited to dive into those stories and learn more about old and new topics.

2) Creating a Fall Curriculum

  • Last year, I saw people making their own Fall Curriculums. I decided to create my own, just in time for the school year to start. For those of you that don’t know, creating a curriculum basically means putting together different things you want to learn and formatting it like your back in school. I created mine to refresh my memory for Japanese, herbal studies, spirituality, and more. So far, I’ve been rewriting my old Japanese notes from high school, and it’s been fun to reminisce on the times when I first learned these lessons.

3) Improving my Daily Routine

  • My daily routine has been getting better. My body automatically wakes up between 6-8 am without an alarm. I drink a cup of tea at least twice a day. The first one has to have lemon and honey, and the next is a cycle syncing tea, a blend of tea made for the different seasons of my menstrual cycle. I try to stretch every day, but there are days where my body is feeling a little sore, so I give myself a break from time to time. I also make sure to eat balanced meals. I still need to work on going to bed a little bit earlier, but I still feel like I’m doing an overall good job for my daily routine.

4) Drawing/Painting for Fun

  • I’ve been really into making art ever since I was little, and I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. School made me explore more with every art class I took, and I was also inspired by the different media I’ve seen growing up. As I gotten older, I rarely get to draw like I use to, and the only times that I drew just revolved around my business. I recently given myself the time to draw for fun again. I have a lot of ideas that I accumulated over the years, and I’m hoping to create those ideas and share those finished art projects in the near future.

5) Cleaning My Phone Photo Library

  • I have so many photos from all the way back to 2013, when I got my first iPod. I’ve been slowly going through all of them, so I can free up some space. Half of my photos are just screenshots of different things I wanted to save like recipes, places to visit, information, etc. It’s still a work in progress, but I’m hoping to reduce my photos to at least half the number soon.

That’s it for now. I was hoping to get this out sooner, but it’s okay. How are you guys liking the monthly recaps so far? If you haven’t seen the first post that started this series, go find “Starting Over and Getting My Spark Back” in Journal. I’ll see you in the next journal post. Have a good day/night.
